Dust off your leotards and starting practicing your “Bootylicious” dance, UK Music Fans: R&B superstar Beyonce is set to join Coldplay and U2 as a headliner at Britain’s Glastonbury Music Festival, if whispers gaining momentum online are to be believed.
The full official line-up has yet to be unveiled, but Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis — who organizes the three-day outdoor event each June — recently raved that the 2011 bill includes “an American artist that I’ve been wanting to have for years.”
For some reason, the British gossip wire, most notably HolyMoly.co.uk, believe this mystery star is none other than Sasha Fierce. U2 will play the Pyramid Stage on the Friday, June 24, with Beyonce taking the top slot on Saturday. Coldplay have been given the prestigious closing slot on Sunday, June 26, HolyMoly snoops dish.
If the rumors are true, it would be the former Destiny’s Child singer’s first performance at Glastonbury. Beyonce, however, did attend the traditionally-rock festival in 2008 to support her hip-hopster husband Jay-Z, who was performing as a headliner.
The 41st Annual Glastonbury Festival kicks off at Worthy Field in the UK on Friday, June 24.
