Salman does a Pierce Brosnan

Salman Khan recently shot some high-voltage action sequences for his upcoming movie Ready, while driving a tuk-tuk in the narrow streets of Pattaya, Thailand.

Perhaps inspired by Hollywood actor Pierce Brosnan’s fast-paced ad in the ubiquitous Thai rickshaw, Salman suggested to the director Anees Bazmee that they shoot some action scenes in one, as it hasn’t been done in a Hindi film as yet.

Subsequently, an action scene was written and shot, showing two tuk-tuks blowing up and the actor jumping into another one and driving off. Says an insider, “Since no owner wanted to have his vehicle blown up, producer Bhushan Kumar had to buy three at a cost of approximately Rs two lakh each, for the shoot. Salman drove the tuk-tuk expertly, although it was the first time he doing so.”

Understandably, Bhushan and co-producer Rajat Rawail want only the best for their movie therefore no expenses are being spared. After Wanted and Dabangg, Salman’s fans want to see him in bigger and better action scenes and the producers aim to deliver.

That said, this is T-Series’ most expensive film to date. The shoot in Bangkok and Pataya itself is costing Bhushan over Rs 11 crore at a cost of Rs 25 lakh per day. Special Thai action fighters have been hired to shoot the action scenes in the tuk-tuks in Bangkok and in the entire film.”

Bhushan admits, “It was bhai’s (Salman) idea to shoot in a tuk tuk. Unlike the two and three-wheeler vehicles in India, the tuk tuks are very fast and powerful. Their drivers too are experts and can ride them as two-wheelers also. Bhai wanted to shoot an action sequence nobody has done before. People have shot romantic songs or scenes perhaps, but such a high-voltage action sequence will be seen for the first time in ready. People will enjoy this unique Thai action.”

Prachi Desai Shining Bollywood Star

She has the potential to kill some one with her extreme charm and child like millionare smile yes i am talking about the gorgeous Bollywood star Prachi Desai. Actress Prachi Desai has come a long way since her first movie outing in the Farhan Akhtar-Arjun Rampal starrer Rock On!!. one would have expected her to sign films in heaps. However, this hasn’t been the case as one is yet to hear of any new announcements. ”It was a conscious decision to go slow at the beginning of my career. I had been doing a lot on TV and wanted to give myself time to sink into the world of films. Also, audience also needs time to get used to seeing you in a different persona; it isn’t easy for them either,” says Prachi who has pretty much been an annual event if her films released so far are any indication “I think now is the time to move faster,” smiles Prachi who has currently only one confirmed film in her hands – JOKER with Rajeev Khandelwal, “I wanted some variety in the kind of films I do and hence I did a sophisticated ROCK ON, a comedy LIFE PARTNER and a period film like ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI.”

While she was a girl from the 70s in ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI, Prachi’s upcoming film JOKER has her playing a girl of today.

“In this film, I am playing someone who is exactly like me in real life as well,” informs Prachi, “My biggest worry always has been to get typecast as an actor. This is the reason why I have been making a conscious effort to give myself enough break in between so that I can pick and choose films carefully.” Well Prachi, in the times when being on-your-face and all over is the ‘in’ thing, it won’t be a bad idea to shorten breaks and pick up a lot more which is in the offering.

In fact, Prachi says that it’s just a matter of some more time before she surprises her audience even more. “Rock On!! was a complete change for me. I liked the way it introduced me to the big screen. But yes, there are more surprises in the waiting. I have signed up for a couple of films and my look will be completely different in them. There is plenty of scope in these roles that will allow me to unlock my sensual side. Right now I’m experimenting with my looks and I’m sure everybody will like it when they see the end result,” says Desai.

According to the actor, she would like to “play it smartly” when it comes to changing the general perception about her girl-next-door image. “I don’t want to do go for a drastic image makeover. I want to do it smartly and over a period of time, I want to prove that I can carry off any role and any outfit,” says Desai.

The actor admits that there was a time when she also used to suffer from weight issues but she says that she handled that period well.

“There was a brief phase when I had discovered that I had put on weight and it gave me sleepless nights. I was so worried about it. But then I decided that I needed to tackle it normally and not get too stressed about it. Apart from that phase, I was always lean and never had a problem with the way I look,” she adds.

Tell the actor that her career took off on a reverse mode of sorts and she agrees.

“Most actors start with modelling, then graduate into films and then they do TV. For me the graph has been completely ulta. It was TV first, and then came films and then it was the ramp followed by modelling assignments. But I am grateful to God. I really think the journey has been very special for me,” she concludes. We would like to wish you a happy life journery which is smooth full of bumpers…..i mean free of hurdles.

Adah Sharma Amidst Talent Powerhouses Juhi Chawla and Anupam Kher in 'Pri and Me'

Juhi Chawla and Anupam Kher play important roles in Adah Sharma's upcoming film 'Pri and Me,' a romantic comedy about two best friends.

Chawla and Kher are both Bollywood stalwarts with formidable talent, but relative newcomer Adah is not daunted to be in their midst, just thrilled.

"I'm really looking forward to shooting with Juhi Chawla. She's gorgeous and has such superb comic timing! The scenes I have with Anupam Kher too! I think it will be a riot on screen!" gushes Adah.

There is a good reason why Adah Sharma took her time before signing her second film 'Pri and Me,' despite a critically acclaimed debut performance in the horror thriller and box office success - 1920.

Adah was seeking substance and challenge in her roles, over paycheck and tabloid fame. She turned down big banner offers biding for the right role, in the process antagonizing some industry big-wigs.

Even as Adah waited for the right role, paychecks kept flowing her way from endorsements, because her obvious talent and delightful good looks weren't ignored by the more competitive and professional advertisement industry.

She featured in TVCs from Nokia, Olay and Joyalukkas Gold Jewelry, alongside Sharman Joshi, Katrina Kaif and Madhavan respectively.

Describing her role in 'Pri and Me,' Adah tells sawfnews.com, "Its a romantic comedy about two best friends. I play 'Pri' short for Priyanka."

Besides being thrilled about her talented co-stars, Adah is also excited about getting to play someone akin to her own real live character in Pri.

"I'm grateful I had a fantastic debut; I got to play such a strong character. Playing Liza was a lot of fun, but very difficult for me. I didn't really relate to a possessed girl from 1920. My character in Pri and me is very much like me in real life."

The film is expected to feature some pretty catchy music.

Nearing the end of our interaction, we wonder if there is more going on in this talented young girl's life? We risk asking. It turns out we are not wrong.

"I will be signing on with one more big brand soon," she says.

"I'm delighted that these brands are signing me on," she adds with endearing political correctness.

Something tells us she isn't finished, so we wait.

"There are two films that I will announce when we begin filming," comes the whopper!

Why is it that we are not surprised.
