Since leaving him The Matrix, Keanu Reeves has worked sparingly, pouring his biggest ambitions into two martial arts-themed projects, next year's "47 Ronin" and his directorial debut "Man of Tai Chi."

The latter went into production a few months ago, and now a proof of concept video (via The Playlist) has surfaced showing off some of the technology that Reeves will be using in order to capture some serious martial arts action.

The rig Reeves is using for "Man of Tai Chi" is known as Bot & Dolly. The system is made of a highly controllable robotic arm that can maneuver a camera up and around the fight on the ground.

With the new rig, Reeves hopes to create what modern action films do with CGI by using old-school technique mixed with the high-tech. "The ambition for me was trying to get what I've seen done before with CGI and putting the camera in places where you couldn't get and have the flesh and blood elements there," he said.
