Roseanne Reality Show Greenlit By Lifetime

Emmy-winning Comedienne Roseanne Barr will star in a 16-episode docu-series about her life on a Hawaiian macadamia nut farm, Lifetime bosses announced Monday.

The femme-centric network for women has greenlit a still-untitled show that will follow the former Roseanne actress as she runs the 40-acre nut farm on Hawaii’s Big Island, with the help of her boyfriend Johnny Argent and teenage son Jake.

“I’m coming back down to earth, and keeping it real,” Barr said in a statement Monday. “They’ve said ‘Roseanne’s nuts’ for years, and now I’m going to make that a reality – I’m all about nuts now, macadamia nuts!”

Nancy Dubuc, Lifetime’s President and General Manager, called Barr “an undeniable force of nature” and said the network was “thrilled” to host the comedian’s return to television.

“Roseanne is funny and brutally honest, and our audience will relate to her decision to go on this adventure and create an entirely new life for herself. We are thrilled she will make her long-awaited return to television on Lifetime.”

Roseanne’s latest foray on the small screen will debut sometime later this year.
