Marion Cotillard — the French Oscar winner who is expecting her first child this spring — will join Anne Hathaway and Christian Bale in the upcoming Batman movie, according to reports out of Europe.
The La Vie En Rose star is set to appear in Christoper Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises –which sees Bale return for the third time as the caped crusader and Oscar-nominated Hathaway making her debut as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, French newspaper Le Fiagro said Monday.
“Marion Cotillard will join the production this summer in Los Angeles, where she will share the bill with Anne Hathaway,” the report reads. “The actress, who is expecting a child in the spring with Guillaume Canet, will be scarce this year. She’ll do a single film and her choice fell on Batman 3.”
Though Marion’s casting hasn’t officially been confirmed, she’s reportedly been cast as Talia al Ghul, the daughter of Ra’s al Ghul – played by Liam Neeson in 2005′s Batman Begins – and a love interest to Bruce Wayne. Marion is due to give birth to her first child with Guillaume Canet in May and has been scaling back her future projects to focus on motherhood. She’ll film her Batman scenes after giving birth to her first child this spring.
The Dark Knight Rises Again opens in June 2012.
