It's rough out there for teachers these days: To judge from last fall's Warrior and the upcoming Here Comes the Boom, the only way for an earnest teacher to earn an extra buck these days is to moonlight as an MMA fighter on the side. (Dead Poets Society would be very different in the year 2012.) Boom stars Kevin James, so it's a little more studio-comedy than the sadly underseen Warrior, but it's still got James taking his lumps as a shirtless brawler, as well as Salma Hayek as a potential love interest who delivers lines like, "Inspiring your students, I see." Yes, it could use some Tom Hardy, but what couldn't?
